Created and endorsed by the Orchestra de Chambre de Toulouse, Coruss synthetic bow hair was developed in France by musicians seeking an alternative to horsehair. It’s desirable properties are that it reduces problems of breakage, is more resistant to wear, and is hydrophobic. This means that it is affected less by temperature and humidity than natural materials. In blind tests many musicians were unable to distinguish Coruss hair from horsehair and others preferred the sound. These bows also make great environmentally and vegan-friendly options!
